Description:
A competitive, fast-paced extreme tag inspired e-sports game set in a utopian future. A continued effort is being made to improve the visuals and mechanics of the game previously known as Evasion.

Not all the works on this page would make it one-to-one into the game – but they will give insight into the the art style development of Pace.
Character art
For the current scope of Pace, we wanted to make two athletic characters that are easily recognized within an arena/environment that is mostly blue and green. Ultimately, the player characters should have different abilities that come from switchable prosthetic limbs.
In order to get to that final design, the character design process had to undergo several steps. The first step is always thumbnail sketches.
To get the colors just right, many iterations were drawn. Both player 1 and 2 should be clearly readable in the bright sports arena.
For now, these character portraits function as suggestions for player 1 and 2. In the future, head variation/customization could be a big part in making Pace feel inclusive, letting the player personalize different aspects of their character.
